- Tip #5: Complex is not necessarily complicated.
Brief sentences can express complex ideas; it’s only a matter of word choice, voice use and conviction – pretty much the integration of the first four tips. You don’t have to use too many words nor do you have to use a clause-filled sentence. “There is nothing miserable than waking up and finding yourself alone, abandoned in misery, with no one to talk to and to seek comfort from,” – this is a word vomit. “It’s truly depressing to be alone, without anyone to talk to,” this is more like it. Blogs are not literature pieces. In case you also happen to be creative writer, distinguish your poetry posts from your blog entries.
