Time Commitment and Effective Writing

A common problem for writers is time. While you have a lot of ideas, you do not have enough time to actually put them down to writing. If you have a job or schooling that takes up most of your time, try to siphon short writings early in the morning before starting your day or late at night before you hit the hay. Of course, you can execute better writing when you have the time but this works so as to not lose your ideas and material.
Perhaps, what you can do is plan out when you can actually dedicate a huge chunk of hours for your writing. As with all things, time management and prioritizing is key. Allot 3 to 4 solid hours of writing time, especially when you are the most relaxed; stressed writing is the same as a hurried one. Work with whatever is comfortable for you – play music, have some munchies or a cup of coffee. Ultimately, never force yourself to continue if you reach a point of blank slate. However, do keep in mind that you have deadlines.

In short, discipline is the way to go.
